Ayat Way is an online Quran academy that teaches learners across the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what your rights are under UK data protection law.
When you request a free trial we collect the learner’s name and age, the course, teacher preference, preferred days and times, the parent or guardian’s name, email address and WhatsApp number, and any message you choose to write. The email address and WhatsApp number are needed so we can reply.
When you message us on WhatsApp or by email we receive your number or email address and the content of your message.
We do not ask for payment card details on this website.
We use this information to answer your enquiry, arrange the trial lesson, match a teacher, schedule lessons and send reminders or lesson information. Our legal basis is your consent when you send the form, and our legitimate interest in running the academy and replying to enquiries.
Many learners are children. We collect a child’s details only from a parent or guardian, and only what is needed to arrange lessons. Parents may ask us to see, correct or delete their child’s information at any time.
The academy does not record lessons. A student may record a lesson only after telling the teacher.
Trial requests you send through the form are saved in a database on our website hosting, and a copy is emailed to the academy. We also send you a confirmation email at the address you entered. We store a scrambled version of your IP address, not the address itself, only to stop spam.
We share information only with the teachers who need it to teach, and with the services we use to run lessons and messages, such as Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp and email providers. We do not sell personal information.
We keep trial enquiries for as long as needed to follow up, then delete them. Student records are kept while lessons continue and for a reasonable period after, then deleted.
This website does not use advertising cookies. Some tools, such as the prayer-time city choice, save a small setting in your own browser so the tool remembers you. You can clear it in your browser settings.
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
To use any of these rights, email info@ayatway.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp at +44 7344 199879.
