About these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to online Quran lessons booked with Ayat Way. By booking a lesson you agree to them.

Lessons

Lessons are live and one-to-one, online, on Zoom or Google Meet, and run on UK time. Each lesson is 45 minutes. You need a device with a camera, a microphone and an internet connection.

Free trial

The first trial lesson is free. If the teacher is not a good fit, you can have a second free trial with a different teacher. Paid lessons start only after you agree.

Prices and payment

Lessons are priced per 45-minute lesson. Standard lessons are £3 to £5. Quran with Islamic studies is £6 to £7. Hifz and Tafseer are £5 to £8. Lessons with an Egyptian teacher are £7 to £9. Weekend lessons cost £0.50 more per lesson. Two or three siblings learning together receive a discount on the final price. The price for your lessons is agreed with you before you start.

Changes and missed lessons

Please tell us as early as you can if you need to move a lesson. We will do our best to find another time with your teacher. Lessons missed without notice may not be rescheduled.

Refunds

A refund is given if you decide lessons are not for you. Contact us and we will explain how it works for your lessons.

Parents and children

For children aged 4 or 5, a parent sits beside the child during the lesson. Parents are welcome to sit in on any lesson. Please keep lessons in a shared room of the home.

Recording

The academy does not record lessons. A student may record a lesson only after telling the teacher.

Respect and conduct

We ask students and parents to treat teachers with respect. We may end lessons if behaviour makes teaching unsafe or impossible.

Website content

The Quran, namaz and Islamic calendar pages are learning aids. For questions about your own situation, ask a qualified teacher or scholar you trust. Prayer times are calculated and can differ by a few minutes from your local mosque.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.
