For parents

Safe Online Quran Learning for Children

What parents can expect from a lesson with us, and the questions to ask any online Quran academy before you book.

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding means the steps an organisation takes to keep children safe from harm while they are in its care. For an online Quran academy that means who is in the lesson, how the lesson is run, what a parent can see, and what happens if someone is worried.

This page explains how our lessons are set up and gives you questions to ask any academy, so you can judge for yourself.

How our lessons are set up

Seven things a parent can see for themselves.

One learner, one teacherLessons are live and one-to-one, so you can see exactly who is teaching your child.
Zoom or Google MeetLessons run on Zoom or Google Meet. Nothing to install beyond those apps.
A teacher of your choiceAsk for a female teacher when you book, or choose a male teacher. Most of our teachers are female.
See it before you commitThe first lesson is a free trial. If the teacher is not the right fit, meet a second one, also free.
Parents welcomeParents can sit in. For children aged 4 or 5, a parent sits beside the child.
No recording by usWe do not record lessons. A student may record only after telling the teacher first.
A progress report every monthParents receive a monthly report, so you always know what your child is learning.

Six questions to ask before you book

Use these with any online Quran academy. Ask us the same ones, and expect a clear answer.

  1. Who will teach my child, and how are teachers checked?
  2. Can I sit in on lessons, especially for younger children?
  3. Are lessons recorded, and who can see the recordings?
  4. Do teachers contact children directly outside lessons?
  5. Who do I contact if I am worried about something?
  6. Is there a written safeguarding policy I can read?

What parents can do at home

  • Keep the device in a shared space, such as the living room, for younger children.
  • Stay nearby during the first lessons and join the free trial with your child.
  • Talk with your child after lessons and tell us straight away if anything worries you.

Are lessons recorded?

No, we do not record lessons. A student may record only after telling the teacher first.

Who do I contact with a concern about a lesson?
